Cook – Part-Time (Queenstown)

We are a Christian childcare centre located in Queenstown, looking for a cook to join our amazing team!

Hours:
Part-time, Monday to Friday (6 hours per day, 30 hours per week)

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Flexible and able to work collaboratively in a busy team environment
  • Enjoys being around children
  • Basic Food Safety accreditation (preferred but not essential — training provided)
  • Experience cooking for large groups
  • Strong time management skills
  • Basic administration skills (e.g. maintaining shopping lists and other related tasks)

  • Willing to undergo a non-core worker Safety Check as required by the Vulnerable Children Act 2014, including a compulsory Police Vet

Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook meals according to the planned menu, in liaison with the Head Chef
  • Follow all relevant public health and food safety guidelines

  • Work collaboratively and flexibly with the teaching team and Head Chef

Unqualified Early Childhood Teacher

We are a Christian childcare centre located in Queenstown, looking for an unqualified teacher or a teacher in training to join our amazing team for 32.5 hours per week (with the potential for additional hours as needed).

Casual Early Childhood Education Reliever

We are a Christian childcare centre located in Queenstown, providing exceptional care and education to families in our community.

We are currently looking for enthusiastic and reliable candidates to join our casual relievers pool. While an ECE qualification is an advantage, we are also interested in hearing from experienced, unqualified applicants who have references demonstrating their experience working with young children. This role may also suit a university or high school student (must be at least 17 years old) seeking school holiday work and who has experience working with children.

To support our friendly, professional team during staff absences, we are seeking capable individuals who:

  • Have a kind and nurturing approach toward children
  • Possess good communication and teamwork skills
  • Are flexible and responsive to the needs of the centre

We offer excellent working conditions, including:

  • Spacious, well-equipped staff facilities
  • Enhanced teacher-to-child ratios
  • A supportive, ECE-qualified and experienced management team

As not all staff absences are planned, a willingness to be available on short notice is highly desirable.

To be successful in your application, you will need to:

  • Be available as an on-call reliever, Monday to Friday, any time between 8:00am – 5:30pm (depending on the shift you are covering)
  • Have experience working with children and the flexibility to work across all age groups, from 3 months to 6 years
  • Work well in a team environment
  • Be proactive and show initiative in the classroom, supporting teachers in providing quality care and education
  • Be available to start as soon as possible

While an ECE qualification is an advantage, we are also interested in hearing from experienced, unqualified applicants who have references for working with young children.

To support our friendly, professional team during staff absences we are seeking capable individuals who possess a kind and nurturing approach towards children, good communication and team working skills and the ability to be flexible and responsive.

We offer excellent working conditions including spacious, well-equipped staff facilities, enhanced teacher to child ratios and a supportive, ECE qualified and experienced management team.

As not all staff absences are planned, a willingness to receive offers of work at short notice is desirable.

To be successful in your application you will need:

  • To be available as an on call reliever to work as required on any day Monday to Friday at any time between the hours of 7.30m to 6m (depending on the shift you are covering).
  • To have experience working with children and being flexible to work across all our classroom age brackets, 3 months to 5 year olds.
  • Work well in a team environment.
  • To be proactive and have initiative within the classroom to support the teachers in providing quality care and education for our precious children.
