Choosing the right childcare centre is one of the biggest decisions a parent makes. For Kim Veale, what started as a practical choice quickly became something much more meaningful.
From Convenience to Confidence
“We originally chose City Impact Church Childcare because it was convenient,” says Kim. “I even had my daughter on the waitlist for another centre for when she turned three. But we loved City Impact Church Childcare so much that we cancelled that enrolment and kept her here until she started primary school.”
For Kim, it wasn’t just location that kept her family here.
“We loved the family environment, the love and care of the teachers, the fun she was having, and the education she was receiving… and bonus it was still super convenient.”
Relationships That Last Beyond Childcare
One of the most meaningful outcomes for Kim has been the relationships her daughter built during her early years. “She is still very good friends with the children who were in her class at childcare and are now in her class at school,” Kim shares.
Even more special is the ongoing connection with her teachers. “When she bumps into her teachers, she still runs up to greet them so excitedly. That means a lot to us.”
Growing in Confidence Every Day
Over time, Kim noticed significant growth in her daughter’s confidence and development. “She grew in confidence socially and in what she was able to do. She became confident talking to others, confident in her physical abilities, and confident in expressing creativity.”
From climbing the monkey bars to engaging in art and performance, Kim saw her daughter flourish. “She had so many opportunities to explore creativity that she wouldn’t have had at home. She was beginning phonics and was well and truly ready for school.”
A Child Who is Known and Loved
For Kim, one of the most important parts of the experience was the care and connection her daughter received each day. “The kids are treated like family,” she says. “They have an amazing team of teachers who take great care of the children.” “I felt like my daughter was known and loved and well cared for.”
Moments That Go Beyond Childcare
As part of the wider church community, Kim also experienced moments that reflected the genuine care of the teaching team outside the classroom.
“There were times Riley would see some of her teachers at church,” she says. “One night during a prayer service, I noticed she was hanging out with one of her teachers, and she was treating her like family.”
Nurturing Faith Along the Way
For Kim, one of the most beautiful outcomes has been seeing her daughter’s growing faith.
“She has such a love of Jesus and a trust in Him,” Kim shares. “It’s a pure childlike faith that has been nurtured by those around her.”
“She loves worship, she sings her heart out, tells everyone about Jesus, and prays for people she sees who are sick.”
A Smooth Transition to School
Looking back, Kim says she can’t point to just one thing that made the difference, but the overall foundation was strong.
“I don’t know that I could pinpoint one key thing,” she says. “But she is thriving now that she’s at school. The education she received was age appropriate and effective, and she transitioned easily.”
Like Family
When asked to describe the overall atmosphere, Kim doesn’t hesitate.
“Like family.”
Looking Back
Her message to other parents considering enrolment is simple:
“Your child is in good hands. They will be loved, cared for, and celebrated, and they will love their time there.”
